Marvel Announces MCU Phase 5 Movies And Series

JAKARTA - There's always something new from Marvel Studio. Kevin Feige as Marvel boss announced phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) which features several titles that will be released. The news was shared via a Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 23.

Previously, Feige shared the news that Phase 4 would end with the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The two titles are confirmed to air this year.

In addition to phase 5, Kevin Feige also mentioned several titles entering phase 6 which are projected to end in November 2025. Here is a summary of phase 5 of the MCU:

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumia

Footage from the new Ant-Man film shows Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) meeting Scott Lang (Paul Rudd). MODOK is expected to appear in the Peyton Reed-directed film. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumia will hit theaters February 17, 2023.

Secret Invasion

Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and The Skrull Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), Don Cheadle (James Rhodes) and Martin Freeman (Everett K. Ross) join forces in a political thriller. Secret Invasion will premiere in spring 2023.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

The third film from the Guardians of the Galaxy universe again stars Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Will Poulter and Maria Bakalova who first joined as Cosmo the Spacedog. The film will premiere May 5, 2023.

echo

This spin-off of the Hawkeye series features Maya Lopez (Alaqua Xox). Directed by Sydney Freeland and Catriona McKenzie, Echo is set to premiere in the summer of 2023.

Loki 2

The second season of the Loki series is confirmed to be present. Some time ago, Tom Hiddleston was seen filming Loki 2 in a number of places including fast food outlets. The series will release in the summer of 2023.

Blade

Mahersala Ali is believed to be one of the main characters of Blade, which is referred to as a reboot of the vampire comic from Marvel. Production of the film will begin in October and will be the last feature-length film Marvel releases in 2023, which is November 3.

Ironheart

Marvel also developed several characters in serial form. Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) is the main star in Chinaka Hodge's series Ironheart.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos

Kathryn Hahn's character Agatha Darkness left a good impression. Therefore, 2023 will conclude with the spin-off WandaVision where the story is written by Jac Schaeffer.

Daredevil: Born Again

Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) is appearing in his upcoming solo series on Disney+. There is not much information other than this series airing in 2024.

Captain America: New World Order

Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) is the new Captain America. His figure is familiar considering he starred in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. The new Captain America movie will be released on May 3, 2024.

Thunderbolts

Phase 5 of the MCU ends with Thunderbolts. Starring Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Abomination (Tim Roth), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), and Taskmaster ( Olga Kurylenko). Thunderbolts opens July 25, 2024 in theaters.

Meanwhile, Kevin Feige also shared some leaks about the 6th phase of the MCU. These include Fantastic 4, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and Avengers: Secret Wars.
