Same-Sex Vampire Series First Kill Will Show 8 Episodes On Netflix

JAKARTA - An adult vampire series centered on two lesbian characters is currently in development. First Kill , adapted from a short story by acclaimed New York Times writer Victoria "VE" Schwab.

The one-hour series is based on a short story of the same name by Victoria "VE" Schwab that was published in the Imprint Vampire Never Get Old: Tales with Fresh Bite story collection in September.

Schwab is producing the series and will serve as writer and executive producer. Felicia D. Henderson will play the role of writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss will be executive producers under their Belletrist Productions banner.

Belletrist Production won the rights to Schwab's work after going through fierce competition with 18 other companies. Reportedly, Netflix has ordered eight episodes.

Here's the official description for First Kill : “When it's time for teenage vampire Juliette to commit her first murder so that she can take her place among the powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope.

"But to Juliette's surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter, from a family of notorious killers. The two discover that the other is not easy to kill and, unfortunately, too easy to fall in love with ..."

Currently there are no actors involved in the project. However TheWrap revealed that the casting process was ongoing.
