JAKARTA - Dave Bautista has ended his role as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy. After completing filming last week, he shared the news through his Instagram account.

“Can't find the right words. It ended abruptly and I'm shooting my next film before I can process all of this," wrote Dave Bautista on Tuesday, May 10.

"The end of a journey that changed my life," concluded Bautista.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was completed last May 8th. Director James Gunn has uploaded a photo with Bautista, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Zoe Saldana to mark the end of the franchise.

“The last 10 years I've been working and thinking about the Guardians. I still have a journey with VFX and editing but this is very important to me. It's hard to explain how much I love these characters and I see them in me," wrote James Gunn on Twitter.

Dave Bautista has appeared in six Marvel films as Drax the Destroyer. The six films are 3 Guardians films, 2 Avengers films, as well as the upcoming Thor: Love & Thunder.

Later, Bautista will also play Drax once a song for the Guardians Christmas special which will be released before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was released in May 2023.
