Aquaman 2's Release Has Been Postponed To 2023, Here's The New Schedule

JAKARTA - The release of the films Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and The Flash was postponed from originally scheduled for this year to 2023 due to production delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Aquaman sequel, starring Jason Momoa, was pushed back from December 16 to March 17, 2023. While The Flash, of all, scheduled to premiere November 4, was pushed back to June 23, 2023.

The screening of two films starring Dwayne Johnson was also pushed back several months. Black Adam was pushed back three months from July 29 to October 21 this year and the DC League of Super-Pets moved from May 20 to July 29, 2022.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is the only film to be scheduled a few months earlier. The film, starring Zachary Levi, will air from the original set on June 2, 2023, changing to December 12, 2022, or to coincide with the Christmas season.

"We're excited to bring Shazam! Fury of the Gods to audiences as a Christmas present this year. Family members of all ages will really enjoy it," said Jeff Goldstein, president of domestic distribution at Warner Bros., as quoted by Variety on Thursday, March 10.

In addition to superhero films, other Warner Bros. films such as Wonka also experienced changes in the screening schedule. The film, starring Timothee Chalamet, was originally set to premiere on March 17, 2023, but was postponed to December 15, 2023.

Meanwhile, Meg 2: The Trench starring Jason Statham has been set to hit theaters on August 4, 2023.
