Meeting Rizky Nazar Again At 17 Forever, Syifa Hadju Feels Awkward

JAKARTA - Series 17 Forever, starring Syifa Hadju and Rizky Nazar finally airs starting March 10 on WeTV. This is a series directed by Hanung Bramanto for the first time.

Combining elements of drama, mystery, and fantasy, 17 Forever tells the story of Dawai, who is 17 years old. He has not aged for 50 years. He is looking for the reason his lover disappeared in 1965.

"So it does feel very different from the 17 Forever series. The director is also very extraordinary, as well as the players. There is an element of history as well," said Country Head of WeTV and iflix Indonesia, Lesley Simpson when met in Central Jakarta, Wednesday, March 2.

"More shooting in Jogja and the storyline is very interesting. The treatment is also like a film for every episode and the process takes a long time. We're from filming to editing according to the title 17 Forever. We've been shooting until now for more than a year," he said.

Hanung Bramantyo filmed in Yogyakarta to strengthen the historical element. According to him, this series tells about the lives of teenagers or high school children but has a slightly different weight. Not only Indonesian history, there is Roro Jonggang's story that is inserted in the series.

"Because, at the same time, I also want to tell the audience that past events were like this, you know. For example, Ganefo, I want to explain that Ganefo is a sporting event that was founded by the former President of Indonesia, Soekarno, at the end of 1962 as a match for the Olympics. "said Hanung.

"It's very prestigious in my opinion, because the followers of this series who are also young people will definitely ask them what it means," he added.

He told many stories in this series. Starting with Prambanan, Roro Jonggrang. Past history is not a fixed price. "I love history. So, I package this series in a millennial modern way," he said.

Rizky Nazar, who plays the role of Putra, said he was very happy to be able to play in this series because he got a new story.

"I'm happy with the story. This is a film series that is full of challenges because the year is not just nowadays, but there is a flashback to the past. From the side of the story, it's different and very interesting, and it's definitely fun," he said.

Syifa Hadju, who plays Dawai, said she was very happy to play in 17 Forever.

"Here, it's harder for me to play him because the characters are more complex. Where I bring the figure of Dawai to the age of 17, but the mentality is actually decades old. That's one of the interesting things for me," he said.

Syifa Hadju admitted that it was awkward to play with Rizky Nazar again. "Actually, it's a bit awkward. Because we can be ourselves, we meet again. When shooting, we have to be someone else," he explained.
