Makmum 2 Film Review, More Complex And Scarier

JAKARTA - The film Makmum 2 tells the life of Rini (Titi Kamal) who already has a son named Hafis. Rini felt sad again. Her husband died, Rini's sorrow grew when the aunt who raised her died.

While returning home to mourn, Rini's only child, Hafis, disappeared and was found unconscious in the middle of the forest. Rini, Hafis, and other villagers felt the unpleasant incidents.

Rini feels that she is struggling alone to save the only remaining family. At that time, Rini was again disturbed by a supernatural figure resembling Makmum, which made her faith waver and put her child in a dangerous condition.

The second sequel to the Makmum film only leaves Titi Kamal as a defender. The rest were all replaced with new players, namely Marcella Zalianty and Samuel Rizal. The director's chair was also replaced by Guntur Soeharjanto.

Even though they have just been paired, the ensemble of Titi Kamal, Marcella Zalianty, and Samuel Rizal is stronger than the first film. Each role takes a role that supports each other and has a different background so that the story of this film is increasingly complex. Titi Kamal gives her total acting skills with a variety of scenes on offer.

The choice of director Guntur makes this film even more beautiful in providing a production design. The rural landscape combined with the remote village location in the mountains and CGI makes a sense of horror well developed.

What is not left out in Makmum 2 is silent terror. Some scenes give a silent feel without surprising sound, but instead, make goosebumps and scary.

However, if you don't concentrate on watching, the ending of this film will feel confusing because many things are completed at one point. The complexity of the story is well developed until the middle of the end of Makmum 2, to get the answer, it requires more thought.
