Mikha Angelo Is Heartbroken And Then Sings The Saddest Song, Before You

JAKARTA - After releasing "Kinari", "Awal Mula", and "Rumah Baru", Rapijali Book Soundtrack presents a new song entitled "Before You" sung by Mikha Angelo. This English song was written by Dee Lestari who is also the author of the novel series "Rapijali". "Before You" is a song of love and heartbreak.

In the world of "Rapijali", this song is sung by the character Rakai Surya and is intended for a woman who Rakai loves but cannot have due to the social gap between the two of them.

"When looking for a vocalist to voice Rakai, the main candidate was already Mikha Angelo. Mikha Angelo is a singer and songwriter, and usually musicians with such capacity always sing with high authenticity," said Dee in an official broadcast quoted on Tuesday.

For Dee, Micah is the ideal figure to be Rakai. However, Dee was worried that the first season of the X Factor dropout would reject him.

"Because he's a songwriter too, and I understand that a songwriter will be very selective about singing other people's songs because he knows exactly what he likes and doesn't like, what he can perform and what he can't," says Dee.

"Apparently, Micah Angelo was willing, and when I heard Micah Angelo sing the demo, it felt perfect," he continued.

Meanwhile, Micah said that he initially intended to withdraw from this song project for fear of not being able to sing "Before You" well.

Besides, Micah thinks that there are many singers out there who can perform the song more emotionally.

"I trust Dee Lestari's intuition, which already imagined me as the singer of the song. Finally, I accepted the offer," said Mikha.

For Micah, "Before You" is a sad song. The way to sing it is like people are talking and there is a musical touch in it.

The lyrics are very descriptive, Rakai's character and story are clearly illustrated through the lyrics. That perspective was carried over to the vocal take-up process and Micah seemed to be playing a role, as if he was facing a problem as described in the song.

"This is the saddest song I've ever sung, so it's a big thing for me, and I'm happy to have this opportunity," said Mikha Angelo.
