Teka Teki Tika Called Imitate Knives Out, This Is Ernest Prakasa's Explanation

JAKARTA - The Teka Teki Tika film is Ernest Prakasa's latest work after Imperfect in 2019. This film takes the theme of family drama with mystery thriller spices.

Since the initial release of the poster and teaser, many netizens have thought that Teka Teki Tika imitated the storyline of Knives Out, Ryan Johnson's 2019 film.

Knives Out tells the story of a family who experiences a disaster when their grandfather dies. A detective is ordered to look for the suspect and everyone suspects the grandfather's nanny.

The question continued to roll up to Ernest's ears. He also explains why people think these two films are similar.

"About Knives Out, huh.. If you look at it like this, the color tone of the room, yes, the interior, so to be honest on social media when I released the material, people kept calling it Knives Out or Ready or Not.. I want to say it's also difficult, isn't there a film yet? ” said Ernest Prakasa in Central Jakarta on Friday, December 3.

In terms of the story, Ernest can guarantee that there are no plot similarities between Knives Out and Teka Teki Tika as asked by the public.

"Honestly, the house we got was already like that even before I did anything," he explained again. This location is a villa in the West Java area and Ernest just adds a little bit to it.

In addition, the iconic thing from Knives Out is several swords placed in the middle of the living room. A similar sword is also seen in the teaser and trailer for the newly released Teka Teki Tika.

“Some even say that the sword of Knives Out is like that… It's the person who owns the house. The decoration of the swords.”

"At first, I kept looking at the sword. "Oops, if I use this, someone will say I'm joining Knives Out but I wanted to take it down from the wall, so in the trailer, there are wall hanging decorations, with a shoot of Mr. Budiman," Ernest said excitedly.

Ernest explained that the sword array was worth billions so he didn't want to take the risk by lowering the part.

“It's a real sword inherited from the war era. No crusades, no wars. But the value is almost 2 billion. The sword decoration. If I put it down and it keeps falling, who will compensate? I'd rather say it's similar than compensation of 2 billion, that's okay."

"When people watch, this problem will solve itself. Because the storyline is totally different from the premise of the plot," concluded Ernest.

Teka Teki Tika tells the story of the Budiman family (Ferry Salim) who are surprised by the presence of Tika (Sheila Dara Aisha) who comes and claims to be Budiman's daughter. The Teka Teki Tika film will premiere in Indonesian cinemas starting December 23.
