JAKARTA - Director Fajar Nugros will release his latest film, Yowis Ben 3 in theaters. A year after it was produced, he admits that he gets more nervous every time he has new work.

"Nervous. I always get excited every time I release a film and when I watch it I'm sure 'it should be like this, it should be like that', I think everyone experiences it. It's happened, it's being released, and there's nothing you can do about it," Fajar Nugros told VOI on Thursday, November 18.

In Yowis Ben 3, Fajar presents the maturity point of the Yowis Ben band, which consists of Bayu (Bayu Skak), Doni (Joshua Suherman), Nando (Brandon Salim), and Yayan (Tutus Thompson).

"Actually, this film makes me feel more mature than the previous two and it turns out that the most important thing is not being able to band and needing recognition, but adults have responsibility," said Fajar.

The man who was born on July 29 intends to release the Yowis Ben trilogy with a gap of a year, but the third part was blocked by a pandemic. Directing a film with a busy cast made Fajar have to determine the endpoint.

"I have to be fair to the character. That's the most difficult thing not to really go to Bayu, not really to Doni but all the characters get the right portion for this."

Releasing the film in the midst of a pandemic, Fajar Nugros wants viewers to be able to enjoy Yowis Ben 3 as a moment of entertainment and a cure for people's tiredness. In addition, he is also preparing for another new work.

“I hope the young people watching know that there will come a day when we will be held accountable for many things in life. Yowis Ben 3 is all about responsibility.”

Yowis Ben 3 will premiere on November 25 in Indonesian cinemas.
