Bojonegoro - The Bojonegoro Regency Health Office (Dinkes), East Java, asked residents in the local area to be aware of the spread of the superflu virus by increasing immunity, one of which is through influenza vaccination.
The head of the Bojonegoro Regency Health Office, Ninik Susmiati in Bojonegoro, Tuesday, said that no cases of superflu had been found in the local area, although in the East Java region it had been reported that residents had been infected.
"To prevent superflu and increase immunity, it is recommended to vaccinate against influenza, and it can reduce symptoms compared to people who are not vaccinated," said Ninik as quoted by ANTARA.
Ninik explained that the administration of the influenza vaccine is different from the COVID-19 vaccine, where the administration of the influenza vaccine is only done once.
He added that a number of clinics in Bojonegoro could serve influenza vaccines, including the Sosodoro Djatikoesoema Hospital which had a permit to serve international vaccines.
"For the body that has other diseases or comorbidities with the presence of a superflu virus attack will worsen the health condition," he explained.
According to Ninik, superflu is caused by a virus that mutates so that it causes symptoms that are different from the common flu.
The symptoms of superflu, continued Ninik, include feeling weak, a cold cough, high fever, dizziness, sore throat, muscle pain, and sometimes even shortness of breath.
Therefore, people with mild symptoms can isolate themselves and discipline wearing masks to prevent wider transmission.
"If you have a high fever, especially accompanied by shortness of breath, then you should immediately take it to a health facility (faskes)," he said.
