Lebaran Homecoming, Ministry Of Health Warns To Beware Of These Two Types Of Diseases

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) appealed to the public to be aware of two types of diseases that are prone to attack during the Lebaran 1446 Hijri/2025 AD homecoming trip.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin in Tangerang, Saturday, said that diseases that are prone to attack travelers are usually stomach pain or diarrhea and runny nose. Then, the second group is usually the travelers who are affected by dizziness and soreness.

"We see that in this homecoming, there are two groups of people (sick), first stomach aches, diarrhea, runny nose, because bacteria enter the body, they can eat while eating. So, don't forget before eating wash your hands first, if you cough a cold, you are advised to wear a mask so that germs don't enter the body," he explained.

He said, in vulnerable groups, they usually get dizziness, soreness, headaches, which cause high blood pressure and high blood sugar.

"Earlier I asked the travelers, many also complained of dizziness, soreness, headaches. This is the cause of high blood pressure and high blood sugar. Therefore, we urge them to maintain their health," he said.

He appealed to travelers to use health check service facilities that are presented at every terminal, airport, and port. So that before boarding the transportation to continue the homecoming trip, you can first check your health condition.

"Currently, every airport, port, there is a free health check, you can see blood pressure, blood sugar and God willing, the journey will run smoothly, because we know, going home needs enough rest, considering lack of sleep during sahur," he said.

In this case, Minister Budi participated in monitoring and checking flight passenger movement service facilities at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten.
