JAKARTA - The government continues to show a strong commitment to eradicating drugs through the Drug Eradication Dec, which consists of various KLs ranging from the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs, the National Narcotics Agency, the Indonesian National Police, to the Ministry of Population and Family Development/BKKBN.

Throughout February 2025, the Drug Eradication Desk succeeded in uncovering 14 major cases, confiscating 1.2 tons of narcotics, and securing 37 suspects with evidence value reaching Rp 1 trillion. This was conveyed at the Press Conference "The Results of the Enforcement of the Drug Eradication Desk" at the Parking Parking Office of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Jakarta, Monday (03/03/2025), which was attended directly by the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Budi Gunawan.

Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development, Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka, who was also present at the press conference, said that as an institution that focuses on family development and improving the quality of human resources, it contributes to drug prevention efforts, especially in the family and youth environment.

"The government is not only struggling through legal action, but also through prevention and education. The Ministry of Population and Development of Family/BKKBN continues to strengthen the Planning Generation (GenRe) program that provides teenagers with insight, skills, and self-resilience so as not to fall into drug abuse. Through the Indonesian GenRe Forum, more than 436,000 teenagers have received assistance and education to build a better future," said Deputy Minister Isyana.

Wamen Isyana also explained that another form of prevention is through the Youth Information and Concession Center (PIK-R). This is where teenagers can discuss, ask questions, and get guidance from peers who have been trained. PIK-R is present at schools and communities, providing a safe space for the younger generation to learn about reproductive health, future planning, and dangers of drugs.

"The war against drugs is not only the duty of the government, but also the responsibility of all of us. Let's work together to protect the younger generation, ensure that they grow up to be healthy, intelligent, and competitive individuals, in order to realize Indonesia Gold 2045 free from drugs," continued Wamen Isyana.
