Men Have 5 Variations of Orgasms that Are Not Just Ejaculation, What Are They?

JAKARTA - Orgasm in men is actually not a simple process as it has been considered so far. Experts say that men can experience different types of orgasms, with different sensations and mechanisms.

Sexual therapist and specialist nurse, Lorraine Grover, said that there are at least five types of orgasms experienced by men. Interestingly, this variation of orgasm is not only related to sexual pleasure, but also has an impact on health, including reducing the risk of prostate cancer.

"Many men don't realize that orgasm doesn't always have to be accompanied by an erection or ejaculation," said Grover, quoted from Unilad, Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

"Every body is different. Some are more sensitive physically or emotionally, while others need time, support, or better health conditions. The key is not to compare yourself, but to be curious," he added.

The types of orgasms in men that you can see below.

1. Orgasm with ejaculation

Orgasm with ejaculation is the most well-known orgasm. The sensation is a brief and rhythmic release of tension. Although common, only about 60 percent of men always achieve it in every sexual activity.

2. Pelvic orgasm

This type depends on the contraction of the pelvic floor muscles and can occur with little or no direct touch. The sensation is in the form of internal pulsations in the lower body area and can occur without ejaculation.

3. Mixed orgasm

Orgasm is a combination of stimulation of the penis and prostate, which produces a layered and deeper sensation. Exercises that control ejaculation and pelvic muscles can help achieve it.

4. Dry orgasm

Not only women, men can also reach orgasm without ejaculation. The sensation still feels, even though the intensity is lower and the recovery time is faster.

5. Double orgasm

Although it is rare, some men are indeed able to experience more than one orgasm in one session of sex. This is quite challenging, because it generally experiences a refractory phase, which is the period when the body is less responsive to sexual stimuli.
