JAKARTA - Many couples think that removing sperm outside the vagina can prevent pregnancy. However, it turns out that this method is not completely safe.

Andrologist specialist, Dr. Seso Sulijaya Suyono, Sp.And, explained that the male ejaculation process occurs in several stages or factions.

"The circulation in men is divided into several parts, it can be up to six parts. Before the main ejaculation occurs, the fluid from the cowper gland (bulboretral gland) will first come out to coat the urinary tract," explained Dr. Seso, quoted from the Andrological Class YouTube channel.

According to Dr. Seso, this initial liquid functions to neutralize the acidity of the remaining urine in the urinary tract so that sperm does not die. However, in the initial liquid there were already sperm.

"The initial liquid turned out to contain quite a lot of sperm, plus fluid from the prostate gland," he said.

Although the volume of fluid from the prostate gland is very small, the number of sperm contained in it is quite large. Meanwhile, in the final stages of ejaculation, the volume of fluid is indeed more because it comes from seminalis vesikula, but the number of sperm is even less.

Dr. Seso emphasized that the 'outside' method does not guarantee that it is safe from pregnancy.

"If you still believe that it is issued outside, it is not certain that a sperm enters and is not pregnant, that is wrong." he said.

That is, even though a man pulls a penis before full ejaculation, there is still a chance of pregnancy, because sperm can enter the vagina through pre-ejaculation fluid.
