Bogor City Government reminds bars and karaoke to comply with rules for selling alcoholic beverages

BOGOR - The Bogor City Government (Pemkot) reminds all cafe, restaurant, bar, and karaoke business actors to comply with the provisions regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages in accordance with applicable regulations. Compliance with regulations is considered important to maintain a conducive business climate while creating public order in Bogor City.

The message was conveyed by the Assistant for Government and People's Welfare (Aspemkesra) of Bogor City, Eko Prabowo, when opening the Coordination Meeting for the Control, Supervision, and Prohibition of Alcoholic Beverages at the Bogor City Hall, Wednesday, July 29.

Eko said the Bogor City Government appreciated the contribution of business actors who had encouraged regional economic growth through job creation, strengthening the tourism sector, creative economy, and increasing the competitiveness of Bogor City as a service city.

"Bogor City Government is committed to creating a healthy, safe, conducive investment climate, and providing certainty for the business world. We believe that sustainable economic growth can only be realized through strong partnerships, mutual support, and mutual trust between the government and business actors," said Eko.

However, according to him, the growth of the business sector must also be balanced with compliance with applicable rules, especially regarding the control and supervision of the circulation of alcoholic beverages.

"Regulations regarding the control, supervision, and discipline of alcoholic beverages are not to hinder business activities, but as a legal basis that provides certainty, protection, and guidelines for business actors so that they can operate legally, professionally, and in accordance with norms and public interests," he said.

Eko explained that through the forum, the Bogor City Government wanted to ensure that all business actors understood the provisions regarding the licensing, classification and classification of alcoholic beverages, zoning, storage and serving procedures, to various other obligations in accordance with laws and regulations.

"Through this forum, the Bogor City Government wants to ensure that all business actors understand the applicable provisions. We hope that no business actors will face legal problems or enforcement actions due to lack of understanding of regulations," he said.

He also invited business actors to use the forum as a dialogue room to convey various obstacles and inputs so that the government can find solutions together.

"We want to build open, transparent, and collaborative communication so that compliance with regulations can be realized in an easy, fast, accountable, and reliable way for the business world," said Eko.

In line with this, the Head of the Bogor City Police Pamong Praja Unit (Satpol PP), Pupung W. Purnama, reminded all business actors to comply with the provisions set out in the Mayor's Regulation (Perwali) Number 10 of 2022 as a derivative of the Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 1 of 2021 concerning Public Order.

According to Pupung, the regulation strictly regulates the circulation of alcoholic beverages in Group B and C in Bogor City so that all business actors are required to carry out their business in accordance with the applicable provisions.

"We hope that all business actors can understand and comply with existing rules. Compliance with regulations not only avoids sanctions, but also becomes part of a joint effort to maintain order, security, and public comfort in Bogor City," said Pupung.
