Starting a fitness journey can be a challenge for beginners. Many feel confused where to start, what exercise is the most effective, to how to maintain consistency.

Andrean Dian, an actress and entrepreneurial fitness, shared several important tips so that beginners can get optimal results in undergoing fitness.

Ganindra Bimo's wife revealed that there are no decisive standard rules to start from where. The most important thing is to try various things first and experience for yourself what kind of fitness is the most suitable and fun.

In terms of exercise, people often feel confused about choosing between running, gym, yoga, or other physical activities. According to Andrean, there is no need to be too twisted by that choice at the beginning.

This was revealed by Andrean Dian when he was met at the Press Conference Opening Indonesia Fitness Expo (IFE) 2025.

"For beginners, try everything first. Actually there are no beginners where to start. Like, for example, if you want to run or a gym, just do it. We will know where we like it from there?" he said, when met at Smesco Indonesia, Pancoran, Jakarta on Thursday, February 6.

It's important to try different types of exercise because everyone has different preferences and body conditions. There are those who prefer to practice in closed places like a gym, there are also those who enjoy more activities in the open such as running or cycling. If you get too hung up on one option without trying another, it could be that we miss something that is actually more suitable.

When they just start, many people find it difficult because the body is not used to it. Some people may feel their bodies are heavy or tired quickly. Andran suggests starting with a small step that can be done comfortably.

"It's like, 'oh, I feel like my body is heavier'. If I run, I'll be sick, if I can't run yet, I'll run for 30 minutes," he said.

By starting from small things, the body will adapt slowly. If you immediately force yourself to overwork, you will most likely feel tired or injured, which eventually makes us lose motivation.

After finding a type of sport that is comfortable and fun, the next step is to build a disciplined habit and routine. If done consistently, the body will get used to it, and it will be easier for us to increase the intensity of training.

"Look for habits, building a routine can be disciplined and finally we can be consistent. If it is consistent, 'oh the body wants something new or improves the practice pattern slowly'," said Andrean Dian.

In sports, as well as in life in general, having a goal or goal is very important. This goal will be a motivation to remain committed and consistent in going through the process.

"Goals are important. Not only in the field of sports, but daily life must have goals. Not only fitness, but in a day's life it is very important," he added.

For example, if a person's goal is to lose weight, then he can focus more on exercise that burns calories and regulates his diet.

If the goal is to increase muscle strength, then weight training can be the main choice. With a clear goal, we can determine more effective steps and not easily lose direction.

Apart from sports, another aspect that is no less important is diet. Many people are misguided in going on a diet, such as limiting certain foods or adopting an unhealthy extreme diet.

"For a diet, you have to balance, anything too much will not be good," said Andrean Dian.

The balance in the diet means not only focusing on one type of food, but ensuring that the body gets adequate nutrition from various sources. No need to avoid carbohydrates or fat completely, but rather choose a healthier source of food and eat it in the right amount.
