JAKARTA - PT Karya Pacific Energy Tbk (IATA) admitted that it had applied for an additional coal production of 2 million tons for 2026.

For information, the company which was previously named PT MNC Energy Invesments Tbk only obtained a production approval of 2 million tons out of the total submitted of 7.8 million tons.

"Because considering this time it's only September to December, it's only 4 months. So it doesn't make sense either if we submit (revision of the RKAB) that is excessive," said Director of Karya Pacific, Leader Dermawan Soli Daeli to the media, Monday, August 10.

Leader admitted that he was optimistic that IATA would obtain approval for the revision of the Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) which is currently in the final evaluation stage.

According to him, all the matrix of requirements for the submission of the revision of the RKAB has been approved and now the company is waiting for approval from the relevant directors.

"So in principle all the matrix of the agreement has been approved. And now it is finally waiting for approval from the director," he continued.

Leader said that the additional production proposed had taken into account the remaining operating period until the end of the year.

IATA is also starting to prepare port facilities to support increased production capacity next year.

"Then of course we were told to prepare the port, next year we will apply according to our production capacity. So my answer is that we are still optimistic about getting that number," said Leader.
