JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina Drilling) again recorded the success of drilling operations through Rig PDSI #28.2/D1000-E (1000 HP).

The rig successfully completed the drilling of the Akasia Maju (AMJ)-005 development well owned by PT Pertamina EP Asset 3 (Pertamina EP Zone 7) with initial production test results of 410.4 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).

Vice President of Rig Services Operation Pertamina Drilling, Komedi explained, the drilling of the AMJ-005 well began with a jack on June 22, 2026.

"After completing all stages of drilling and testing, the well successfully underwent a production test on July 20, 2026 with a temporary production rate of 410.4 BOPD using a bean-sized choke of 7 millimeters," said Komedi, Wednesday, July 29.

The AMJ-005 well is located in the Akasia Maju Structure, West Java Province, with the main target of the Upper Cibulakan Formation F2 layer, one of the prospective zones expected to support the increase in national oil production.

Operationally, drilling was carried out using the Directional Drilling (J-Type) method with the PDSI #28.2/D1000-E (750 HP) Rig to a final depth of 1,550 meters measured depth (mMD) or 1,390 meters true vertical depth (mTVD).

All work was successfully completed in 29 days with zero accident and zero NPT (No Equipment Damage) records, proving that it reflects the implementation of consistent safety standards during operations.

"The success of Rig PDSI #28.2 in completing the drilling of AMJ-005 Well with positive production test results is the fruit of the collaboration of the entire team in the field. The completion of work on time with zero accident and zero NPT records shows that safety and operational performance can go hand in hand," said Komedi.

According to Komedi, this achievement further strengthens Pertamina Drilling's role as a strategic partner in supporting national oil and gas field exploration and development activities.

"We will continue to improve the reliability of rig performance and human resource competence, as well as the application of technology and innovation to be able to provide added value for customers and support efforts to increase national oil and gas production," said Komedi.

The success of the drilling of Sumur AMJ-005 adds to Pertamina Drilling's series of positive achievements in supporting national upstream oil and gas operations.

Additional production from the well is expected to strengthen domestic energy supply while supporting the target of increasing national oil production.
