JAKARTA - PT Hutama Marga Waskita (Hamawas) will start imposing tariffs on the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll Road (Kutepat) Sinaksak-Simpang Panei Segment starting Friday, July 17, 2026 at 07.00 WIB.
Thus, the toll road that could previously be crossed for free for about 2.5 months has now entered the full operational phase.
The application of the tariff refers to the Decree of the Minister of Public Works (Kepmen PU) Number 6938/KPTS/M/2026 concerning the Determination of Motor Vehicle Type and Toll Tariff Rates on the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll Road.
Hamawas President Director Dindin Solakhuddin said that during the operational period without tariffs, the company had carried out socialization and education to the public, road users and stakeholders as preparation before the official tariff was implemented.
"With the imposition of tariffs on the Sinaksak-Simpang Panei segment, we appeal to all road users to pay attention to the amount of applicable tariffs, ensure the adequacy of electronic money balances and plan the trip well before crossing. This is important so that the transaction process at the toll gate can run smoothly and not cause travel obstacles," said Dindin as quoted from a written statement, Friday, July 17.
Dindin added that the implementation of the tariff was part of the operational phase of the Kutepat Toll Road in supporting the improvement of inter-regional connectivity in North Sumatra.
The presence of the toll road is expected to make it easier to access Pematangsiantar City, Lake Toba area and a number of other strategic areas.
"Kutepat Toll Road is present to provide an alternative for more efficient, safe and comfortable travel for the community. We hope that the implementation of this tariff can be accompanied by an increase in road users' awareness in preparing for travel, complying with driving regulations and maintaining safety while on the toll road," he said.
In addition to reminding users to ensure that the electronic money balance is sufficient, Hamawas also appealed to the public to comply with traffic rules on toll roads.
In the Sinaksak-Simpang Panei segment, the speed limit is a minimum of 60 kilometers per hour and a maximum of 80 kilometers per hour. Users are also asked not to use the shoulder of the road unless in an emergency.
