Bushfire in Penjaringan is suspected to have been caused by garbage burned by residents

JAKARTA - The bushes on Jalan Kapuk Kamal Raya, RT 07/01, Kamal Muara Village, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta, suddenly caught fire on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Due to this incident, residents reported to the North Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-Directorate. After receiving information about the residents' report, as many as 2 units of fire trucks immediately headed to the location.

"The object was a pile of garbage. The initial cause was due to the burning of garbage that was left behind," said Kasiop Sudin Gulkarmat North Jakarta and Thousand Islands, Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed.

The fire extinguishing process began at 08.45 WIB and has been successfully localized.

"The fire was extinguished at 09.38 WIB. Currently the situation has been resolved, it can be overcome by officers," he said.

According to residents, the fire started from the activity of residents who burned garbage.

"Residents thought it was over and left the tkp. But it turned out that there was a fire when they left," he said.

It is just known that there was no material loss or injury due to the fire.
