JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has carried out a number of mitigations to support services to the community ahead of the 2026 Lebaran homecoming rush.

One of the mitigations carried out is mapping various vulnerable points on the national road network.

Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said that his party had mapped 1,277 landslide-prone points and 591 flood-prone points.

"The PU Ministry has also mapped various vulnerable points on the national road network. We map approximately 591 flood-prone points, 1,277 landslide-prone points, 15 rob-prone points, 249 congestion-prone points and 187 accident-prone points," said Dody in the Working Meeting (Raker) of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives discussing the readiness of infrastructure and transportation services ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026 at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 11.

To support the handling of speed on the ground, said Dody, his party has also prepared around 1,461 units of disaster relief units (DRU) that can be mobilized at any time.

"At these points, the readiness of personnel and equipment is very decisive," he said.

As support for public services, the PU Ministry has also prepared around 496 joint homecoming posts, spread across various regions of Indonesia, from H-10 to H+10 Lebaran.

Dody said that the post was a combination of the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Road Construction, the Directorate General of Water Resources and the Directorate General of Construction which was tasked with ensuring that road conditions remained safe and were not disturbed by potential hydrometeorological disasters.

"This post also plays a role in flood mitigation which has the potential to disrupt national roads, toll roads, and railway lines," he said.

Not stopping there, the PU Ministry also provides an Eid homecoming platform that can be accessed by the public through the mudik.pu.go.id page.

Through this platform, the public can monitor traffic conditions in real time.

There are also 1,270 CCTV points on the toll road network, 41 CCTV points on non-toll national roads, and 40 CCTV points from the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

In addition, there is also an information channel for homecoming and a 24-hour call center service.

"In the current era, fast information is often as important as the readiness of the infrastructure itself," explained Dody.
