JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) ensures that it is ready to fully support the construction of temporary housing (huntara) for 15 thousand units for people affected by the Sumatra landslide and flood disaster through the provision of safe and reliable electricity for all housing units.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo through his statement in Makassar, Saturday, January 3, emphasized PLN's readiness to implement the Government's instructions through Danantara Indonesia to ensure the readiness of the electricity infrastructure.

"For every housing unit that has been completed, we ensure that electricity is also available and can be turned on immediately, so that people can immediately occupy their homes safely and comfortably," said Darmawan, quoted by Antara.

Huntara is built according to the standard of emergency housing eligibility, not only focusing on building construction, but also basic needs such as electricity.

Electricity availability is also a priority of the Government through Danantara Indonesia in building huntara, in addition to access to clean water, adequate sanitation, and health service support at the location.

Currently, PLN has prepared electrical infrastructure in the Huntara Aceh Tamiang area, such as the construction of a transformer, electrical network, and kWh meter for all housing that has been built. Even the electrical network has been fully connected and sufficient to serve the electricity needs of housing and public facilities.

This step is a form of commitment to the presence of the state in accelerating post-disaster recovery through the provision of basic infrastructure for people affected by flash floods and landslides in the region.

The plan is that 600 units of huntara will be handed over to the local government on January 8, 2026, to be given to residents affected by the disaster.

Previously, Danantara Indonesia Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dony Oskaria accompanied by Darmawan directly escorted the progress of the construction of Huntara Aceh Tamiang and its electrical infrastructure.

Darmawan emphasized that the presence of reliable electricity in huntara is one of the basic needs that must be available to support people's daily activities.

"We understand that our brothers and sisters who are affected by flash floods and landslides have lost many things, not only houses, but also a sense of security and comfort. Therefore, PLN is trying to provide excellent electricity in the huntara area," he said.
