This was conveyed by the Director of Operations II of Hutama Karya Gunadi during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 Alert Apel at the KM 397 Rest Area of the Palembang-Betung Toll Road A, Tuesday, December 16.
"Based on the results of the projection, the traffic volume at JTTS is estimated to increase by 30.2 percent during the Nataru period," said Gunadi in a written statement, Wednesday, December 17.
Gunadi said that this condition requires comprehensive readiness, not only from toll road managers, but also through strengthening coordination and synergy across related institutions, both at the central and regional levels.
Therefore, HK is trying to ensure the reliability of services during the Nataru period.
One of his efforts, namely, has completed all routine and periodic maintenance work at JTTS on Tuesday, December 16.
"With the completion of the maintenance, all toll roads managed by Hutama Karya are in a state of readiness to serve road users," said Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya Mardiansyah.
During the Nataru period, HK operated 14 JTTS sections with a total length of 800.52 kilometers (km), consisting of 12 operating sections at a tariff of 693.3 km and 52.59 km of non-tariff sections and two functional sections of 54.63 km.
In supporting operational and service for road users, Hutama Karya also activated 451 units of operational fleet and 3,223 personnel on standby and operated 29 Rest and Service (TIP) along the JTTS managed by Hutama Karya.
Services are also strengthened through 38 top-up locations, 61 operating gates, 273 operating substations, 128 mobile reader units, 1,534 CCTV camera units, and 107 Variable Message Sign (VMS) units integrated through the HK Toll Apps application.
Service improvements are also carried out through the addition of electronic money cards, top-up officers, and traffic control equipment.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Dwi Aryono Bayuaji Service Handling Team said that his party and related institutions had also prepared traffic engineering, one of which was through the implementation of the holding system scheme at TIP, to regulate vehicle traffic and maintain traffic flow on the main toll road.
Based on the results of traffic analysis, he added, the peak of the Christmas homecoming flow is estimated to occur on December 20-21, 2025, while the peak of the New Year's return flow is projected to take place on January 1 and 3-4, 2026.
"We hope that road users can wisely choose the time of travel to avoid vehicle congestion in order to increase the comfort of driving together," he said.
