PTPP Officially Working On Bengkulu People's School Project Worth IDR 502 Billion

JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP), a national construction and investment company under the auspices of Danantara Indonesia, has again strengthened its contribution to the development of national basic infrastructure through the signing of the Bengkulu Provincial People's School Development project contract, an integrated educational facility that will be built in two locations: Bengkulu City and Kaur Regency.

The signing of the contract was carried out with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure, which is the owner of the work. This project marks the important step of PTPP in supporting the government's mission to expand access to quality education while reducing the gap in public services between regions.

The Bengkulu People's School Development Project has a contract value of IDR 501.99 billion (including VAT) and is funded through the State Budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. The work will take place within a period of 240 calendar days since the issuance of the SPMK, followed by a maintenance period of 180 calendar days.

The development was carried out in two strategic locations, namely Sukarami Village, Selebar District, Bengkulu City, and Cucupan Village, Permanent District, Kaur Regency, which were chosen to reach more people in the urban and southern coastal areas of Bengkulu.

The education complex will stand on a large area of land and cover a total of 18 buildings, designed with modern, safe, and environmentally friendly building standards. The scope of the work includes structural and architectural completion, mechanical 'electric' equipment (MEP) installations, to the construction of areas such as sports fields, open spaces, drainage systems, ceremonial fields, and the provision of educational furniture. All of these facilities are presented to create a more feasible, inclusive learning environment, and support the development of human resources in Bengkulu in a sustainable manner.

PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo explained that this project adopted high quality standards to ensure the safety and comfort of facility users. This project also uses environmentally friendly materials and work methods that pay attention to safety and efficiency, in line with the sustainable construction practices that are part of the company's ESG commitment.

"PTPP presents an integrated construction approach starting from the foundation of the stake, a high quality concrete structure, an efficient MEP system, to regional facilities that support the optimal teaching and learning process," said Joko, in a written statement, Friday, December 12.

As a public education facility, the Bengkulu People's School is expected to be a learning center for the younger generation, especially in areas with limited access to formal education. The presence of this facility will increase public access to quality education, support superior human resource development, create inclusive and safe learning spaces, and strengthen the regional education ecosystem. This effort is in line with the government's agenda in Asta Cita, especially on priorities for improving the quality of Indonesian human resources and equitable distribution of regional development.

Joko emphasized that the Bengkulu People's School project is proof of PTPP's consistency in presenting public infrastructure that provides added value to the community.

"Development of educational facilities like this is not only physical construction, but future investment of the nation. PTPP ensures that work is carried out with the best quality standards to support equitable education services and improve the welfare of the Bengkulu community," concluded Joko.

With the start of this project, PTPP emphasized its role as the government's main partner in presenting modern, inclusive and sustainable strategic infrastructure.
