Purbaya Reveals Trade AI Trial In Tanjung Priok Successfully Adds State Revenue Of IDR 1.2 Billion

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance through the Directorate General of Customs and Excise introduced two digital innovations that are currently being developed, namely the Self Service Report Mobile (SSR-Mobile) and Trade AI.

These two services will later be connected to CEISA 4.0 Mobile.

TheSSR-Mobile features include various features such as geotagging, real-time recording, as well as AI integration to monitor income and disbursement activities at customs facilities such as TPB, KITE, FTZ, and KEK.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadive said that through theSSR-Mobile, companies can gate in, stuffing, demolition, and gate out independently, while the AI system performs automatic risk analysis.

"With this transformation, the bureaucracy will decrease, compliance will increase, and gaps in closed fraud," said Purbaya at Seal Point Terminal 3 of the Tanjung Priok Port Container, Friday, December 12.

In addition, Customs and Excise is also preparing an application with an artificial intelligence (AI) system currently under development, called Trade AI which is designed to improve the accuracy of import analysis.

He added that he had carried out a rapid inspection of around 145 Goods Import Notifications (PIB) in Tanjung Priok, the system managed to find indications of irregularities in the customs value and resulted in additional receipts of around Rp. 1.2 billion.

"Yesterday we checked 145 PIBs from there, we checked it quickly, it could be added around if the AI is large, maybe more than a billion. But when we try to check again with the field, all kinds of things we get an additional Rp1.2 billion. So that's not bad," he explained.

He added that although the initial results were still relatively small, this achievement showed the great potential of developing the AI system in the future.

"At least the important thing is that the first run has produced a clear income like that, so yes, it seems that this project will benefit me in the future," he said.

According to him, it is still too early to confirm how much opportunities this AI development can produce, but the preliminary results have shown a positive picture.

"If it gets longer, more sophisticated, the benefits should be greater. Now it's too early to say what opportunities actually exist from the development of this AI. But the results are clear. From that, I got Rp1 billion easily," he added.
