Ara Said 22 Regencies/Cities In RI Have Not Been Touched By The BSPS Program For 5 Years

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) revealed that as many as 22 regencies/cities in Indonesia have not received the self-help housing stimulant assistance program (BSPS) for the last five years.

This was conveyed by the Minister of PKP Maruarar Sirait or Ara in a Working Meeting with Commission V of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, December 4.

"From the data we received, there were 22 regencies/cities for five years that did not receive BSPS. I make sure it will never happen again," said Ara.

He regretted this because the BSPS program itself should be felt by all regions in Indonesia.

Ara promised, next year the BSPS program can be utilized by all regions in the country.

"We make sure that in 2026 all regencies/cities get BSPS, all regencies/cities are no exception. I think this is the first time, sir, no districts/cities cannot," he said.

Ara is optimistic that its use can be evenly distributed because the quota has been increased to 400,000 units from the previous only 45,000 units.

The budget will also use 80 percent of the State Budget of the Ministry of PKP 2026, which is around Rp. 8.9 trillion.

The plan is for the BSPS program to start around May 2026 for phase I and continue between August or September 2026 for phase II.

"(Asked the Director General of PKP Settlement Areas as well as the person in charge of BSPS, Fitrah Nur) are we ready to start dropping goods in April or May? Okay, starting May (BSPS), right? Obviously, yes," said Ara.
