PLN Deploys 500 Personnel To Affected Tower Locations In Aceh

PT PLN (Persero) deployed 500 personnel from all units in Indonesia, on Sunday, November 30, to various critical points of the 150 kilovolt High Voltage Air Line (SUTT) tower (kV) affected by floods and landslides in Aceh.

The move was carried out by land and air with the support of the Indonesian National Army (TNI).

The critical points that became the distribution area of joint PLN personnel, including in SUTT 150 kV Arun - Bireuen as many as 258 personnel, in SUTT 150 kV Bireuen Peusangan as many as 178 personnel, and in SUTT 150 kV P. Brandan Langsa as many as 64 personnel.

The President Director of PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo, emphasized that the synergy with the Indonesian Air Force (AU) and the Indonesian Army (AD) played a major role in accelerating the process of restoring electricity in Aceh.

"We are very grateful to the TNI for taking part in strengthening this effort. The collaboration that has been established is an important factor in the process of recovering the damaged tracing network," said Darmawan, Monday, December 1.

Aceh's condition after the floods and landslides suffered severe infrastructure damage. Many main road access was cut off, so that some areas were still difficult to reach by land. To ensure that all distributions, including personnel, emergency tower materials, work equipment, and supporting logistics arrived on time, PLN collaborated with the Indonesian Air Force to distribute them by air.

"Distribution to isolated areas using helicopters is one of the strategic steps so that personnel and equipment can immediately get to the affected location," Darmawan explained.

In addition to utilizing the air route, PLN with the support of the Indonesian Army also deployed trucks to reach areas that could still be accessed by land.

Furthermore, Darmawan emphasized that he ensured that the recovery process was effective so that electricity services could be enjoyed by the community immediately.

"The personnel continue to work _nonstop_ with high enthusiasm to ensure the electricity system recovers quickly and safely," he said.

General Manager of PLN's Distribution Main Unit and Expense Regulatory Center (UIP3B) Sumatra, Amiruddin, said that the mobilization of personnel and a number of emergency materials had arrived at the location of the affected tower.

Personnel and emergency materials are already at the critical points of the affected tower. We are trying to get the construction of an emergency tower completed immediately and Aceh's electricity supply recovers as quickly as possible," concluded Amiruddin.
