JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya Bangunan Gedung Tbk (WEGE) alias WIKA Gedung said that the company was involved in the construction of the People's School (SR) which is a project from the Ministry of Public Works (PU).

Director of Quality, Health, Safety, Environment & Marketing of WEGE Tomo Dwi Hasputro said the company was working on a People's School project in West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan) and Central Java (Central Java).

"Yes, there are three locations for People's Schools that we won in West Kalimantan. Then, there are in Central Java with five locations for People's Schools," Tomo said at the 2025 Public Expose (Pubex) online, Friday, November 28.

In working on the project, Tomo said, WEGE collaborated with the operation (KSO) with WIKA Holding. According to him, KSO is one of the company's strategies to accelerate the completion of the project.

"So, with this KSO, there are three companies, one of which is private. We are trying to collaborate to share the location of the area that spread in West Kalimantan, in Central Java. We have to do it in parallel, so that the implementation time can be on time and on budget," he said.

Even so, Tomo did not specify the project value of the People's School work.

Previously, the Ministry of Public Works had established strategic steps for 2026 by carrying out the vision of infrastructure development in a just and sustainable manner throughout Indonesia.

Quoted from the official Instagram account @kementerianpu, Tuesday, November 25, PU Minister Dody Hanggodo explained, the budget allocation of the Ministry of Public Works in 2026 will target the priority sector mandated by President Prabowo Subianto.

"The 2026 PU Ministry budget is allocated for various priority sectors mandated by President Prabowo, including the construction of irrigation networks, improvement of national and regional road connectivity, provision of drinking water and sanitation, construction of educational buildings and community services as well as accelerating community-based infrastructure," said Dody.

From several infrastructure development plans in 2026, the People's School is on the priority list. The Ministry of Public Works targets as many as 104 units of People's Schools to be built by 2026.
