Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung Route Prone To Disturbances, KAI President Director: Traffic Is Not Even

JAKARTA - KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin raised his voice about disturbances that often occur across the Green Line route Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung Station. Currently, he said that his party was conducting a study, including the question of the density of passengers on the route.

Bobby admitted that the pattern of passenger movement on the track was uneven. This condition creates a different burden between trips in the morning and evening.

"Well, this green line is our again (study). So like this, it turns out that traffic is not evenly distributed. So in the morning, the supply stations outside Jakarta are full," he said when met at Gambir Station, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 25.

According to Bobby, the burden in the morning is still relatively scattered because passengers come from many buffer stations.

"But thank God, in the morning, these supply stations are scattered. So the Green Line is not so tight," he said.

However, Bobby said, conditions turned around when the time came home. Passengers are concentrated at two large points, making the traffic more congested and prone to problems.

"Well, when it comes back this afternoon, it's the other way around. Where is it gathering if it's not in Manggarai, in Tanah Abang," he explained.

Bobby admitted that he was preparing a number of steps to unravel the density on the green line. Including the option of adjusting the pattern of operation.

"We are also trying to do something like modification. Modification from whether we will rearrange the flow later. Will we see additional protection later," he said.

Bobby said, whatever decision will be taken, must be carefully studied because it involves travel security.

"This is what we are studying and calculating, what is important for us is as I said earlier, customer safety is number one," said Bobby.
