JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) will build facilities for the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) or Free Nutritioning Kitchen (MBG) in 222 locations spread across 29 provinces of Indonesia, this year.
This was marked by the signing of a work package contract between the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) and construction service providers which was witnessed directly by the Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo and Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti.
Director General of Strategic Infrastructure of the Ministry of Public Works, Bisma Staniarto, said the signing of the contract was for physical construction packages and supervision consultant packages. The SPPG 1 package covers 78 locations in several areas in Sumatra, with the implementation of PT Hutama Karya worth IDR 639.23 billion and supervision consultant PT Tata Karya worth IDR 7.31 billion.
Meanwhile, the SPPG 2 package covers 74 locations in Bangka Belitung, Bengkulu, Lampung and several areas in Kalimantan, with the implementation of PT Adhi Karya worth IDR 581.23 billion and the supervision consultant of PT Ciriajasa Cipta Mandiri worth IDR 6.31 billion. Thus, the contract value reached around IDR 1.23 trillion.
"Paying attention to the number of location distributions not in each province, the number of work contract packages is divided into 3 regions, namely Physical Packages and Supervision Packages for the Development of SPPG Buildings 1, 2 and 3," said Bisma during the signing ceremony at the PU Ministry office, Jakarta, Friday, November 21.
The SPPG 3 package which includes 70 locations is planned to be signed on Monday, November 24, 2025.
Bisma added, the reference for the SPPG development design refers to the Decree of the Minister of Public Works Number 628/KPTS/M/2025 regarding the design of the prototype of the SPPG building.
The design leads to the construction of hygienic kitchens, the use of safe wall materials for bacteria and ceiling mushrooms as well as fire-resistant wall layers in cooking areas, epoxy-coated floors, air system, clean water filters, wastewater treatment to fire extinguishers.
"(The SPPG building) uses modular construction, so it is hoped that development can be faster," he said.

Of the total 264 SPPG locations previously determined, said Bisma, some were declared not ready to be built in 2025 because problems such as land status were still in the process of being transferred.
"So the number of SPPG locations to be built by the Ministry of Public Works in 2025 is 222 locations spread across 29 provinces," he explained.
