Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadive said that until now the government has only managed to collect around Rp. 8 trillion from 200 taxpayer evaders.

According to Purbaya, the collection process was slow because tax arrears were unable to pay off their obligations directly and had to pay through an installment scheme.

"It can't be done right away, there are all kinds of installments. Until now, it has only been priced at IDR 8 trillion. Most of them are still paying installments and some are still being chased," he said in a media briefing, Friday, November 14.

However, Purbaya is optimistic that the total arrears of up to IDR 60 trillion can be paid in full.

"Most likely billed, they shouldn't mess with us," he said.

Previously, the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) continued to follow up on around 200 large taxpayers who had not fulfilled their payment obligations with a total tax arrears estimated at IDR 60 trillion.

Purbaya revealed that until September 2025, there had been 84 tax arrears who had started making payments totaling Rp5.1 trillion.

"As of September there were 84 taxpayers who had made payments or installments with a total value of Rp. 5.1 trillion," he said in a media briefing, Friday, September 26.

Purbaya emphasized that the remaining 166 taxpayers will not be separated from their tax obligations and the Government will continue to pursue the tax evaders to pay off all arrears and ensure that none of these 200 taxpayers can escape.

"We will continue to pursue this until the year ends. What is clear is that they can no longer run now," he said.

Purbaya added that the majority of the 200 tax arrears came from the company, while the number of individuals who were in arrears was relatively small.

"So the largest majority of the 200 is companies, not individuals. The reason is simple, namely the scale of large tax obligations that have not emerged from corporate activities, for individual categories the number exists, but the portion is relatively small." said Purbaya.
