Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said the non-oil and gas processing industry or IPNM grew by 5.58 percent until the third quarter of 2025.

This was conveyed by Agus at the One Year Prebowo-Gibran Government Featured Program Event in Jakarta, Wednesday night, November 5.

"We want to underline the performance of the non-oil and gas management industry which in our view is not bad, quite encouraging. The growth of the non-oil and gas processing industry was recorded at 5.58 percent, much higher than the national economic growth recorded at 5.04 percent," said Agus.

Agus added that the manufacturing industry is also the largest contributor to the national economy's source of growth, reaching more than 1 percent.

"The manufacturing sector is the largest contributor to the source of growth to the economy, which is 1.04 percent," he said.

The IPNM sector contributed 17.39 percent to gross domestic product (GDP) until September 2025. "And this means it will increase by 0.47 percent compared to the second quarter which was recorded at 16.92 percent," he said.

In addition, Agus said, the number of employment absorption from the manufacturing sector reached 20.31 million people as of August 2025. "This means that 13 percent of the total absorption of national labor," explained the former Minister of Social Affairs.

Not only that, Agus also revealed the contribution of investment to the manufacturing industry which reached 37.73 percent of the total investment nationally.

"Not bad," he explained.

According to Agus, the export achievements of the manufacturing industry are also quite good. The reason, he said, is that IPNM is the largest contributor to sectoral exports.

"Based on BPS data this morning, the export contribution of the non-oil and gas processing industry was the largest sectorally and it was recorded that 81 percent of national exports came from manufacturing goods. 81 percent," said Agus.

Furthermore, he also explained the level of utilization in the non-oil and gas processing industry which reached 59.28 percent.

"This means that there is still a very large open space for the manufacturing sector to develop optimizing its production capacity," concluded Agus.
