JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadive said the results of a public survey showed an increase in trust in the government.
The data was released in October 2025, a month after Purbaya officially served as State Treasurer. This presentation also responded to the statement of former Head of the Government Communications Agency (Bakom) Hasan Nasbi, who assessed Purbaya's communication style which seemed to interfere with other officials' policies to potentially weaken government solidity.
"So the stability of the government is very good in the eyes of the community, except in the eyes of the person," he told the media crew, Monday, October 27.
He emphasized that based on data on the consumer confidence index in the government as of October 2025, the results of a survey by the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) noted that the level of consumer confidence in the government had increased again after experiencing a decline for three consecutive months.
Meanwhile, the Consumer Confidence Index for the Government increased in October 2025 to the 113.3 level, or an increase when compared to September 2025 of 101.5.
According to him, this data shows that public trust is starting to improve after a drastic decline, which sparked a major demonstration in August 2025.
"July-August-September it continues to fall to its lowest point, this is where there are many demonstrations. We are doing policies that are possible for other people (others) to be a bit drastic, a bit say ceplus celos, but this has succeeded in reversing public sentiment towards the government. In fact, the level is now the same as this, so it is stable again," he said.
He added that improving public trust is also in line with improving economic conditions and his 'coboy' style of communication, he said, played a role in restoring public sentiment.
"So this has a correlation. When the economy is bad, they (the public) don't like the government, that's why there are a lot of massive demonstrations. When they come back, they are also happy with the government. So I think I'm a cowboy, but what I do is restore people's trust in the government," he said.
Previously, former Head of the Government Communications Agency (Bakom) Hasan Nasbi reminded that the 'stab' communication style among cabinet members has the potential to damage government solidity.
On his personal YouTube channel, Hasan emphasized that differences of opinion between officials should be resolved internally, not displayed in public.

"If we talk in the context of the government, fellow cabinet members, fellow governments cannot hold stab standards continuously in public. Therefore, it will weaken the government," he said, quoted Monday, October 27.
He added that attacking each other in public spaces could actually harm the image of the government and the polemics that are displayed openly, only benefiting those who do not support the government.
"If we want to exchange stabs in a closed room, we want to correct each other, want to be angry with each other, want to debate each other, want to show them in a closed room. But if we are in an open space, we will later attract people who don't like the government," he explained.
Hasan warned, although the public may consider dissent as temporary entertainment, if left protracted, their perception could turn into the assumption that the government is not solid and easily pitted against each other.
He emphasized that the consolidation of government power and solidity is very important and the difference of views in public policy is natural, but it should not be brought down by fellow officials.
"Even though the government's solidity is very important. Consolidation of power is very important, so you can drag on like that," he said.
