Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadive emphasized his commitment to prohibit imports of used clothes or those sent in sacks or balpres.

Purbaya said that he would not hesitate to take firm action against those who rejected the policy.

"The rejection? Who refused I arrested first. If the perpetrators of the threatening refuse, I will arrest him first, that means he is the culprit, it's clear," said Purbaya to the media crew, Monday, October 27.

He added, if there are parties who openly oppose this policy, it will actually facilitate the prosecution process.

Because, according to him, the rejection can be considered as a form of recognition for involvement in importing illegal used clothing.

"In fact, it's my profit. He admits that 'I'm an illegal importer', right," he said.

Purbaya emphasized that his party continues to monitor in the field to suppress these illegal import activities.

He revealed that the government has pocketed the names of parties suspected of often importing used clothes.

"I hope they start to stop it because in the future we will act now in the field, we will continue to check from time to time. If they are caught, they can't get rich again, it's about like that," he explained.

Menurut Purbaya, jika praktik impor pakaian bekas berhasil dihentikan, pasokan barang domestik akan meningkat dan industri dalam negeri dapat kembali berkembang.

"Kita orang kan suka bingung kalau itunya mati berarti enggak ada suplai, suplainya barang-barang domestik harusnya nanti Biar industri domestik juga hidup lagi," ucapnya.

According to Purbaya, if the practice of importing used clothes is successfully stopped, domestic goods supply will increase and the domestic industry can develop again.

"We people like to be confused if it dies, it means there is no supply, the supply should be domestic goods later so that the domestic industry will also live again," he said.
