Citilink Starts Implementing Flight Ticket Discounts Starting Today

JAKARTA - Airlines have started implementing a flight ticket discount policy for the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 periods. One of them is Citilink which provides discounts of up to 17 percent.

President Director of Citilink Darsito Hendroseputro said this flight ticket discount was a follow-up to the Decree of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Number KM 50 of 2025. This is also in line with President Prabowo Subianto's directive to maintain the momentum of national economic growth in the second semester of 2025.

"We welcome the government's policy regarding the reduction in flight ticket prices as a step to increase public accessibility to air transportation services, especially during the long Christmas and New Year 2025/2026 holiday period," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, October 22.

Darsito said the discount on flight ticket prices during the Nataru 2025/2026 period could reach 17 percent, most of which came from ticket price support components, including lowering fuel surcharge rates, cutting PJP2U rates, and providing Value Added Tax (VAT) incentives from the Government.

Furthermore, Darsito explained that this ticket price discount applies to purchases made during the period from October 22, 2025 to January 10, 2026 through all sales channels, including websites, mobile applications, as well as partner travel agents.

"Citilink is always committed to supporting the implementation of this policy while still prioritizing aspects of safety, security, and service quality," he said.

Citilink, continued Darsito, hopes that this policy of decreasing flight ticket prices can have a positive impact on increasing community mobility in the peak season period at the end of the year, so that it can contribute positively to the company's performance, especially in terms of passenger occupancy rate (load factor) and revenue performance.

"Citilink also hopes that this policy can encourage sustainable growth, not only for national aviation customers and industries, but also for the company's overall performance," Darsito concluded.

Previously, the government officially lowered the plane ticket rate by 13 to 14 percent for the Christmas 2025 transportation period and the 2026 (Nataru) new year. Policy is part of the economic stimulus provided by the government.

This decision is also a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto's directive regarding strengthening strategic steps to maintain the momentum of national economic growth in the second semester of 2025, focusing on increasing household consumption and people's purchasing power.

This ticket price reduction applies to domestic tickets for the economy class for the flight period 22 December 2025 to 10 January 2026, with the purchase period 22 October 2025 to 10 January 2026.

This discount is the result of adjustments to a number of cost components, including the Government-Borrowed Value Added Tax (VAT) (DTP) of 6 percent, jet fuel surcharge (FS) of 2 percent, and FS Propeler of 20 percent.

Then, Aircraft Passenger Services (PJP2U) of 50 percent, Landing Services, Placement, and Aircraft Storage (PJP4U) services of 50 percent, decline in avtur prices at 37 airports, as well as advanced services as well as extended and longer operating hours.

Technical regulations related to this policy are contained in a number of regulations, including the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number KM 50 of 2025 concerning the Decree in the Amount of Additional Fuel Fee (Fuel Surcharge) of Passengers for Domestic Scheduled Commercial Air Transport Economic Class Services During the Christmas Day 2025 and New Year 2026.
