JAKARTA - PT Sucor Asset Management (Sucor AM) together with the Mandiri Amal Insani Foundation (MAI) officially inaugurated the clean water program in Babakan Negla Village, Talaga Village, Pasirwangi District, Garut Regency, West Java. This program is part of Sucor AM's commitment to carrying out corporate social responsibility through the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, especially on social and environmental aspects.

The inauguration was also attended by Fajrin Hermansyah, Director and Chairman of the ESG Committee Sucor Asset Management; Iwan Rudiyana, Head of the Mandiri Foundation Amal Insani; Ayep Suarsa, Head of Talaga Village; as well as representatives of local residents who actively participate in the entire development process.

Before this program ran, residents of Babakan Negla Village for years relied on water from pipelines sourced from mountain springs as far as two kilometers. This condition often makes it difficult, especially when the rainy season comes. The flowing water becomes cloudy and mixed with mud, so residents must accommodate and silence it first so that the dirt settles before being used for daily needs.

Seeing this condition, Sucor AM together with the Mandiri Amal Insani Foundation took the initiative to present a sustainable solution by building clean water infrastructure in this area. The construction process begins with land drilling to reach a depth of 91 meters to find a clean water source that is suitable for consumption. The water source is then channeled to a water reservoir with a capacity of 5,300 liters, which becomes a shelter center before being distributed to mosques and residents' houses. In addition, MCK (Mandi, Washing, Kacus) facilities were also built that can be utilized by the surrounding community.

"Sufficiency for us is not only about investment, but about having a real impact on society. We believe, when clean water flows, life and hope also flow. Through collaboration with the Mandiri Amal Insani Foundation and extraordinary support from the residents of Talaga Village, we hope this program can become a new source of life for the community," said Fajrin Hermansyah, Director & Chairman of the ESG Committee of PT Sucor Asset Management.

In addition to providing direct benefits to the community, this clean water program is also part of Sucor AM's long-term strategy in integrating social values into business activities. This initiative complements various ESG programs that have been carried out previously in the fields of education, the environment, and community empowerment, including support for nutrition programs and educational scholarships through the philanthropy product of Smart Children (SAP).

Sucor Asset Management hopes that the clean water program in Garut can be an example of sustainable cross-sectoral collaboration and inspire more parties to jointly encourage the welfare and quality of life of the Indonesian people.
