Menteri ATR/BPN: Persoalan Tanah Waqf Kerap Terlihat, Tapi Berpotensi Timbulkan Sengketa

JAKARTA - Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid said that the problem of waqf land is often not seen in the short term, but has the potential to cause disputes in the future.

This is due to changes in spatial planning, development of strategic projects or increasing land value in an area.

For this reason, Nusron encourages that the acceleration of certification be carried out collaboratively by involving four main elements.

Starting from Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI), the Indonesian Waqf Agency (BWI) and the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) through the local Religious Affairs Office (KUA).

Nusron also hopes that MUI can play a role as a forum for cross-organization coordination.

"The gang is busy so that these four elements connect," Nusron said while asking the Head of the South Sumatra Provincial BPN Regional Office to immediately build a Cooperation Agreement with these organizations as quoted from the official website of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Monday, October 13.

"The national target for waqf land certification and places of worship is still relatively small. In fact, these are people's assets, shared assets, which we must secure and save," he continued.

According to Nusron, one of the main obstacles in waqf land certification is the absence of a Waqf Ikrar Deed (AIW) owned by nazir as the basis for issuing certificates by BPN.

Karena itu, dia mendorong agar dilakukan sosialisasi rutin di tingkat kecamatan dengan melibatkan semua unsur terkait, baik dari Kemenag, BWI maupun organisasi masyarakat keagamaan.

"Tiap minggu dikumpulkan, sosialisasi di tingkat kecamatan. Undang semua unsur masyarakat, jadi tahu dan bisa langsung menunjukkan lokasi bidangnya," terang dia.

Langkah tersebut diharapkan jadi awal gerakan bersama dalam mengamankan aset keagamaan sekaligus memperkuat sinergi antara pemerintah dan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan tanah wakaf dan rumah ibadah.

Therefore, he encouraged routine socialization at the sub-district level by involving all related elements, both from the Ministry of Religion, BWI and religious community organizations.

"Every week it is collected, socialization at the sub-district level. Invite all elements of society, so you know and can directly show the location of the field," he explained.

This step is expected to be the beginning of a joint movement in securing religious assets while strengthening the synergy between the government and the community in managing waqf land and houses of worship.
