JAKARTA - Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Ferry Juliantono invited the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to become strategic partners such as Foster Brothers for the Red and White Village Cooperatives (Kopdes/Kel) throughout Indonesia, especially in the industrial and mining sectors.

Ferry also expressed his desire to cooperate with Kadin to be able to provide post-harvest equipment such as dryers, control atmosphere storage, and others for the Red and White Kopdes.

In addition, the Coordinating Minister hopes that Kadin can be present as a strategic partner such as the Foster Brother for the Red and White Kopdes, especially in the management of mines and oils whose permits have just been inaugurated, can be managed by cooperatives.

"We support the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to be able to partner together so that cooperatives can catch up with SOEs and private businesses, both in terms of assets, business volume, and community participation," said Ferry, quoted on Saturday, October 11.

Ferry also explained the contents of Government Regulation (PP) Number 39 of 2025 which was recently released by the government, namely regarding the second amendment to Government Regulation Number 96/2021 concerning the Implementation of Minerba Minerba Mining Business Activities.

"Now, cooperatives can manage a 2,500 hectare mineral mine. So, don't be surprised later when next year many cooperatives are like Kadin businessmen," said Ferry.

Nevertheless, Ferry admitted, there are still many cooperatives that have limitations, especially in managing a mining. For this reason, he invited Kadin to partner with cooperatives that would later have mining and mineral permits.

For the Coordinating Minister, cooperatives need cooperation, support, and guidance from the Foster Kadin, so that they can manage various businesses properly.

"Because, so far, oil and gas pockets or at coal mineral mining points, that's where the pockets of poverty are," said the Coordinating Minister.
