JAKARTA - Pertamina Patra Niaga revealed the latest news regarding the agreement to purchase base fuel or fuel without a mixture of additive substances by private fuel operators.
Deputy President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Achmad Muchtasyar, revealed that Vivo canceled buying base fuel from Pertamina even though previously agreed to buy 40,000 barrels from Pertamina.
Achmad said, actually after the meeting, there were two private gas stations that agreed to take a base fuel, namely Vivo and BP-AKR, but were later canceled due to several issues.
"The two private gas stations are willing, interested in buying from us on a base fuel basis," he said in a Meeting with Opinions (RDP) with Commission XII DPR RI, Wednesday, October 1.
He added that this agreement lasted until Friday, September 26, but was later canceled by Vivo, who previously agreed to conduct business to business (B2B) with Pertamina.
"After agreeing 40,000 barrels, in the end it was not agreed again. So not all (taking base fuel)," continued Achmad.
The former Director General of Oil and Gas explained that the reason Vivo resigned from this agreement was because there was a content in Pertamina's basefuel that did not match Vivo's specifications, namely ethanol content.
"The issue conveyed by fellow gas stations is about content. The content contains ethanol," he said.

In fact, he said, the ethanol content in the basefuel is still within the threshold set by the government.
He detailed that the basefuel that Pertamina had imported had an ethanol content of 3.5 percent.
Although the agreement was canceled, Achmad ensured that the private gas station operaor agreed to supply the base fuel imported from the next cargo.
"Friends of private gas stations are pleased if later on cargo they are ready to negotiate if later the content is safe for the specification characteristics of each product. Because these are different brands, different specifications," he said.
