JAKARTA - The government is preparing a special economic stimulus package in order to welcome the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that this stimulus is part of government spending.

He conveyed that the stimulus includes various incentives, ranging from discounted transportation ticket prices, discounted expenditures to Government Borne Value Added Tax (VAT DTP).

"One of the government spending, we already have packages including the Nataru package," Airlangga told his media crew at his office, Tuesday, September 30.

He explained that this stimulus package would include discounted plane tickets, toll rates, ships, and trains.

In addition, Airlangga said the Government would also hold a National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) during the Nataru holiday.

"Where Nataru packages include discounted plane tickets, VAT borne by the government, toll road discounts, ship discounts, train discounts, and Harbolnas. So we encourage public consumption," he said.

Airlangga added that this stimulus was designed to support national economic growth until the end of 2025.

According to him, the plan has received approval from President Prabowo Subianto and will be discussed further.

"The stimulus has not been discussed (today). But it will be discussed tomorrow. So there are several packages that are being prepared," he said.
