Minister Of PKP: BPS Data Becomes A Fractional Foundation For The Subsidized Home Program

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) said data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) became the right foundation to achieve the target of distributing subsidized housing programs.

According to Ara, the Ministry of PKP is one of the largest users of BPS data, which is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's directives so that all ministries and institutions only use BPS official data as the only reference.

"Perhaps the ministry that uses the most BPS data is the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas. Because according to the President's direction, we must use the only source of data from BPS," he said in an official statement, quoted by Antara, Saturday, September 27.

He assessed that BPS is currently present with a new face that is more open, without losing its principles and methodological integrity.

"There is a new face from BPS that can be open, but has strong principles. The integrity of the methodology can be accounted for. My hope is that BPS will be more credible, stronger, and of course the budget will also increase. Because BPS assesses the performance of all ministries and institutions," he said.

The strength of BPS data is very important because it can be used by various parties, ranging from ministries, investors, non-governmental organizations, to academics.

"This measurable measure can be used by anyone. Investors can use it, NGOs can use it, intellectuals can also provide criticism and appreciation based on data from BPS," said Ara.

He also said that the achievement of the subsidized housing program that managed to exceed the target was thanks to BPS data support.

"I just checked, now around 60 thousand workers have received subsidized housing. It's all thanks to a strong database from BPS. I believe BPS is on the right track. I pray BPS will be more trusted, more lit up, and remain the main reference for national development," said Ara.
