Head Of BP BUMN Will Be Directly Selected Prabowo

JAKARTA - Minister of Law (Menkum) Supratman Andi Agtas explained that the candidate for the head of the BUMN Regulation Agency (BP) would be directly elected by President Prabowo Subianto. He said whoever was chosen was the prerogative of the president.

"It completely depends on the President who will be appointed," he said at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Friday, September 26.

For your information, the government plans to reduce the status of the Ministry of SOEs to the BUMN Regulatory Agency (BP). This status reduction is one of the points of change in the revision of Law Number 1 of 2025 concerning the Third Amendment to Law Number 19 of 2023 concerning SOEs.

Supratman said that once the revision of the law was passed, the Ministry of SOEs would automatically turn into BP BUMN. He said the transition process for changes would be prepared by the Ministry of PAN-RB together with the Ministry of State Secretariat and the Ministry of Law.

"Once (the revision of the BUMN Law) is finalized after being automatically promulgated institutionally, the MenPAN-RB will prepare the process together with the Minister of State Secretary to be harmonized at the Ministry of Law later," he said.

In addition, Supratman also explained that BP BUMN is not equivalent to the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara).

Supratman said that in the revision of the Law on the fourth amendment to Law Number 19 of 2003 concerning state-owned enterprises (BUMN) the difference between BP BUMN and Danantara Indonesia was made very clear.

"It's different, it's different. If this (BP BUMN) is the function of the regulator, Danantara is the executor for the implementation of the operator. To carry out its business function is at BP Danantara," he said at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Friday, September 26.

Kemudian, sambung Supratman, BP BUMN maupun Danantara sama-sama merupakan pemegang saham perusahaan pelat merah.

Namun, BP BUMN menjadi pemegang saham seri A dwiwarna 1 persen, sementara Danantara sebagai pemegang seham seri B yang 99 persen.

“Tugas dan fungsinya (BP BUMN) itu kurang lebih sama dengan Kementerian BUMN yang lalu. Di mana di sana dia pemegang seham seri A Dwi Warna 1 persen, tetapi itu akan menentukan menyangkut soal penyelenggaraan RUPS dan lain-lain sebagainya,” jelasnya.

Then, continued Supratman, BP BUMN and Danantara are both state-owned company shareholders.

However, BP BUMN is the shareholder of series A dwiwarna 1 percent, while Danantara is the holder of series Bham which is 99 percent.
