Dasco Says The Status Of The Ministry Of SOEs Will Be Dropped To The State Administrators Agency

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad revealed that there is an opportunity for the Ministry of SOEs to step down to the level of the organizing body.

Furthermore, Dasco said that this return has emerged departing from most of the ministry's functions so far, it has been taken over by the Anagata Nusantara Resources Investment Management Agency (Danantara). Therefore, the Ministry of SOEs is considered to be quite focused as a regulator and shareholder of series A.

"With these considerations, there is a desire to reduce the status of the ministry to the agency. We'll see the results of the discussion," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Tuesday, September 24.

Dasco also said that the Ministry of SOEs would not be merged into BPI Danantara. He ensured that the new BUMN agency would be separated from Danantara.

"No, he is fixed himself. The governing body is state-owned enterprises. The BUMN organizing body," he explained.

Currently, said Dasco, the DPR is discussing the revision of the BUMN Law. He said that the discussion would also include a number of decisions from the Constitutional Court regarding SOEs. Including the prohibition of concurrent positions as commissioners of SOEs.

"That's what is about to be discussed now, we'll see the results of the discussion," he said.

Dasco added that the discussion on the revision of the BUMN Law is targeted to be completed before the closing of the trial period.

"We consider the public participation to be large, plus we will continue to ask for input from the public in additions. It is possible that it will try to be completed before the closing," he said.
