Hold Back Tears When Condolences From The Ministry Of SOEs, Erick Thohir: I'm Sorry

JAKARTA - Erick Thohir officially said goodbye to the extended family of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) after his transition to become Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora).

The atmosphere of emotion was felt when officials from the Ministry of SOEs and dozens of employees from the Ministry of SOEs attended in white uniforms and khaki pants. In this farewell event, the Deputy Minister of SOEs and Acting Minister of SOEs Dony Oskaria, as well as Deputy Minister of SOEs Aminuddin Ma'ruf were present.

Erick, who has been leading the Ministry of SOEs for almost six years, can't help but feel emotional. With a trembling voice, he expressed his gratitude to all BUMN personnel.

After that, Erick also bowed as a sign of apology to BUMN personnel.

"With all humility, for 6 years I have been here, I apologize. If there are words I am wrong, if there is my wrong attitude. But it is all for our progress, for our nation. Thank you," said Erick at the farewell ceremony with employees of the Ministry of SOEs, at Danareksa Tower, Jakarta, Friday, September 19.

Erick also expressed his appreciation for the dedication of employees of the Ministry of SOEs who faithfully support the development of state-owned companies, including when facing the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Not only that, Erick also said that the Ministry of SOEs is a shared house that must be maintained with harmony and a spirit of mutual support.

"I entrust it, don't change your identity. Instead you have to be even better. Because Indonesia needs good people," Erick ordered.

Pada kesempatan ini, Erick pun menyinggung kehadiran Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara atau Danantara Indonesia yang kini menjadi bagian dari keluarga besar BUMN.

“Bapak Presiden mendorong lahirnya Danantara sebagai kekuatan investasi masa depan. Kalian harus dukung. Saya titip, kita ini keluarga besar,” ujar Erick.

On this occasion, Erick also mentioned the presence of the Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency or Danantara Indonesia, which is now part of the big BUMN family.

"Mr. President encourages the birth of Danantara as a strength of future investment. You have to support it. I entrust it, we are a big family," said Erick.
