JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli positively welcomed the collaboration program of the Ministry of Manpower-Ministry of Social Affairs and the Indonesian National Council for Social Welfare (DNIKS) which integrates employment programs with social welfare so as not to run separately.

"The collaboration of the Ministry of Manpower-Ministry of Social Affairs-DNIKS in accordance with Asta Cita 3 and 4 President Prabowo Subianto, can be carried out in creating quality job opportunities and entrepreneurship development; and improving the quality of human resources," said Yassierli, Friday, September 19.

Yassierli stated that the Ministry of Manpower is ready to expand collaboration, especially increasing work access for people with disabilities and vulnerable groups; strengthening the national apprenticeship program for the younger generation; and developing labor skills in the renewable energy sector (green jobs).

"The current focus of the Ministry of Manpower is the disability of the disabled, the deaf who are working age. We are currently preparing three centers in Lembang, Bekasi, Kendari for disability training," said Yassierli.

Various steps are being prepared by the Ministry of Manpower, including preparing guidelines for disabled workers, campaigning to companies to educate on regulations (UU No. 6 of 2018) that companies must employ 1 percent of people with disabilities.

"Currently, the Ministry of Manpower is collaborating with Baznas who are willing to train 1000 people. It is hoped that people with disabilities will work not only because of pity but because they provide value or contribution to the company," said Yassierli.

Yassierli emphasized that the preparation of a rosdmap for workers with disabilities as a medium and long-term strategic reference has not been completed. He hopes that this document will serve as a guide to deepen collaboration involving elements of the government, workers, and employers.

"We are open to DNIKS to provide input on roadmaps for people with disabilities and provide space as resource persons if there is a disability event. We want the Ministry of Manpower to be an example of a disability-friendly Ministry including at the hall," he said.

Meanwhile, Effend Choirie said the Asta Cita Presiden program is in line with the Asta Bakti DNIKS program, which fully supports the government. He assessed that the Ministry of Manpower, as a state instrument, must play a proactive role to ensure that all citizens have access to decent jobs, job protection, and adequate social security.

"Only in that way, the social welfare that is the mandate of the constitution can really be realized," he said.
