JAKARTA The National Food Agency (Bapanas) requested that Perum Bulog maintain the quality of Government Rice Reserves (CBP). Skin must be a major concern in managing national food stocks.
Head of Badanas Arief Prasetyo Adi emphasized that maintaining quality is something important because CBP functions as a strategic instrument in maintaining price stability, supply, and public food access.
According to Arief, the management of the CBP run by Perum Bulog is part of the mandate of the National Food Agency as stipulated in Presidential Regulation Number 125 of 2022 concerning Management of Government Food Reserves (CPP).
Furthermore, Arief said this regulation firmly places CBP as an intervention instrument for food stabilization that must always be ready to be used when needed.
"CBP must be managed carefully, not only in terms of quantity, but also quality. Because in every assignment, both for market intervention, food assistance, as well as disaster management, distributed rice must be suitable for consumption and meet quality standards," said Arief in an official statement, Friday, September 19.
Arief said the existence of Presidential Decree No. 125 of 2022 provides a clear legal basis for the synergy between the National Food Agency and Perum Bulog. With this regulation, CBP is not just an instrument to accumulate rice stocks.
