Badanas Asks Bulog To Maintain The Quality Of Government Rice Stock

JAKARTA The National Food Agency (Bapanas) requested that Perum Bulog maintain the quality of Government Rice Reserves (CBP). Skin must be a major concern in managing national food stocks.

Head of Badanas Arief Prasetyo Adi emphasized that maintaining quality is something important because CBP functions as a strategic instrument in maintaining price stability, supply, and public food access.

According to Arief, the management of the CBP run by Perum Bulog is part of the mandate of the National Food Agency as stipulated in Presidential Regulation Number 125 of 2022 concerning Management of Government Food Reserves (CPP).

Furthermore, Arief said this regulation firmly places CBP as an intervention instrument for food stabilization that must always be ready to be used when needed.

"CBP must be managed carefully, not only in terms of quantity, but also quality. Because in every assignment, both for market intervention, food assistance, as well as disaster management, distributed rice must be suitable for consumption and meet quality standards," said Arief in an official statement, Friday, September 19.

Arief said the existence of Presidential Decree No. 125 of 2022 provides a clear legal basis for the synergy between the National Food Agency and Perum Bulog. With this regulation, CBP is not just an instrument to accumulate rice stocks.

However, Arief continued, CBP is also directed as a policy instrument that functions directly to stabilize food, maintain people's purchasing power, and control inflation, especially food inflation.

Arief also emphasized that the quality of the maintained CBP will strengthen public trust in the government in managing food reserves.

"So if today we have a very sufficient and safe rice stock, reaching 3.9 million tons, then observing the dynamics of supply and food prices today, it is time for Bulog to continue to intensify the distribution of rice, both SPHP rice and food assistance and during disasters," he said.

As for the realization of CBP distribution throughout 2025, as of September 17, a total of 798,800 tons have been distributed to the public. This consists of the distribution of the total Supply Stabilization and Food Price (SPHP) program of 374,800.

Then the realization of rice sales for the allocation rice food assistance program in June and July which has been achieved by 365,500 tons. In addition, there is also distribution in the form of a budget group program of 60,100 tons and an emergency response of 418 tons.

In the future, the government has determined the sustainability of the rice food assistance program in October and November. Rice as much as 365,500 tons will be distributed again to 18,277,083 Beneficiary Families throughout Indonesia. If needed, rice food assistance can continue in December according to the results of the government's evaluation.
