JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded an increase in the average price of rice at the milling level to retail in August 2025.

At the milling level, the price of rice was recorded at Rp. 13,596 per kg or an increase compared to the previous month which was painted at Rp. 13,346 per kg.

"The average price of rice milled in August 2025 was recorded at a total increase of 1.87 percent on a mtm basis and an increase of 6.15 percent year-on-year," said BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics Pudji Ismartini, Monday, September 1.

He continued, based on quality, the average price of premium rice at the milling level increased 2.32 percent from July 2025, and increased 5.77 percent compared to the average price in August 2024.

"Then medium rice rose 1.46 percent month-to-month and 6.58 percent year-on-year," he said.

As for rice inflation at the wholesale level, BPS recorded inflation of 0.64 percent when compared to the average rice price for the period July 2025 and 5.56 percent year-on-year.

Then at the retail level, there is rice price inflation of 0.73 percent mtm and 4.24 percent yoy.
