JAKARTA - Entering the 80th independence age, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK has proven a real contribution in building health and education infrastructure in Indonesia through the completion of 22 hospital projects and 12 educational facilities to support the people prosperous towards an Advanced Indonesia.

This achievement is in line with the government's commitment to realizing the 2045 Golden Indonesia Vision, especially in the pillar of Social Transformation which carries the mission of "Health for All" and improving the quality of national education.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim said that the construction of health facilities is one of the company's strategic priorities.

"Through the construction of hospitals and other hospitals, Hutama Karya seeks to support government programs in increasing the capacity of regional hospitals, especially in remote areas," said Adjib as quoted from his written statement, Wednesday, August 20.

Adjib added that Hutama Karya's contribution in the health sector includes the construction of 17 hospitals that have operated with a total capacity of more than 1,500 beds.

The hospitals include the Pangandaran Regional General Hospital (RSUD); Sky Hospital Tarakan; Mata Manado Hospital; UPT Ambon Hospital; Duren Sawit Regional Special Hospital (RSKD); and Unhas Makassar Hospital.

Lalu, RSUD Purworejo; RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin; RSUD Kertosono Nganjuk; RSUD dr. Sardyus Palangka Raya; General Hospital (RSUP) dr. Ben Mboi Kupang; and RSIA Sardjito Yogyakarta.

Then, the Aesthetic Center of the IGNG Ngoerah Bali RSUP; RSIA IGNG Ngoerah Bali; IKN Vertical Hospital; one supporting health facility in the form of a laboratory with the Udayana Campus; and 1 renovation project of the RSUD in Depok.

Meanwhile, five hospitals are currently under construction in eastern and central Indonesia, namely Oncology Hospital dr. Kandou Manado; Bima City Hospital; Sanana Hospital in Sula Islands; Central Bengkulu Hospital; and North Nias Tafaeri Hospital.

Several leading hospitals that have been operating include Pangandaran Hospital with a capacity of more than 200 patients (2020); Tarakan Sky Hospital with 450 patient capacity (2018); Mata Manado Hospital with a capacity of more than 200 patients (2021); Duren Sawit Hospital with 533 patient capacity (2020); Unhas Makassar Hospital with 180-204 patient capacity (2025); and Dr. Ben Mboi Kupang who became the largest hospital in NTT with 250 patient capacity (2022).

In each of its projects, the hospital building and health facilities built by Hutama Karya are designed with advanced 3D-5D Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology, thus producing extraordinary efficiency and accuracy in each development stage according to international standards.

"In addition, the concept of Building Green (BGH) is also implemented with a focus on efficiency in the use of energy and green certified materials," he said.

One of the uniquest projects showing Hutama Karya's high technical expertise is the construction of the Sky Hospital Tarakan Hospital, built on a channel with a fairly large width and a very limited working area.

The project proves the company's ability to address complex construction technical challenges with innovative solutions.

As for the education sector, Hutama Karya has built eight university campuses or school buildings, including the Papua IPDN Campus in Sorong (2013); Tadulako Palu University (2019); Surabaya State University Campus Building (2020); Jember University (2020); Sultan Ageng University Tirtayasa Banten (2021); STAN State Financial Polytechnic (2021); Malikussaleh Lhokseumawe University (2024); and Bandung Indonesia University of Education (2024).

Especially for high school, HK has completed two major projects, namely the rehabilitation of the total DKI Jakarta School Building Package 1 2024 in six locations (2025) and total rehabilitation after the disaster of the Cianjur Regency School Building in 45 locations (2023).

As for other supporting educational facilities, namely the construction of the Women's Student Apartment Building, the University of Islamic International Indonesia (2021) and the construction of the Indonesian Geodiversity Area Facility LIPI Karangsambung (2023).

On the island of Sumatra, Malikussaleh University in Lhokseumawe is one of the biggest achievements with seven buildings built and a total area of more than 23,600 square meters to serve 21,274 students and 877 lecturers.

Meanwhile, on the island of Java, the University of Indonesian Education in Bandung has received new facilities built by the company in the form of three buildings for Pascasarjana, one building for the Faculty of Economic and Business Education (FPEB) and one building for the Faculty of Art and Design Education (FPSD) and the University of Jember, receiving integrated laboratory facilities and agrotechnoparks.

"All of these educational projects show Hutama Karya's serious commitment to supporting the improvement of the quality of higher education in Indonesia. We believe the first step to supporting quality education starts from building an adequate higher and middle education infrastructure," explained Adjib.

According to Adjib, the presence of health and education facilities built by Hutama Karya has a significant impact on the people of Indonesia.

In the health sector, hospital construction has increased access to health services in remote areas, reduced patient referral needs outside the region, created jobs for local medical personnel and improved the ability to handle emergency cases in various regions.

Meanwhile, in the education sector, the construction of higher education facilities has increased learning capacity, absorbed up to 38 percent of local workers in development, developed research and technology partnerships and improved the quality of academic infrastructure that supports the teaching and learning process better.

Adjib said, Hutama Karya continues to be committed to continuing the development of health infrastructure and education in the future.

Currently, the company is focusing on the construction stage of the Bima City Hospital in West Nusa Tenggara, Sanana Hospital in North Maluku, Central Bengkulu Hospital, Dr. Oncology Hospital. Kandou Manado and North Nias Tafaeri Hospital.

All of these projects are expected to strengthen the reach of health services in eastern and central regions of Indonesia.
