Minister Of Transportation Dudy Denies Reshuffle Of Directors Of PT KAI In The Aftermath Of Accident: That's The Right Of The Danantara

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi opened his voice regarding the reshuffle of the directors of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI Didiek Hartantyo which had just been carried out.

The reshuffle coincided with the recent rampant train accidents.

Dudy denied that the change in ranks was related to the rampant accidents that occurred. According to him, it is the authority of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and Danantara Indonesia

"Regarding the change of Directors from PT KAI, I don't think it is related to what happened to three incidents (accidents) related to trains. That is the right and authority of Danantara in changing directors and commissioners," said Dudy at a press conference at the Coordinating Ministry for IPK office, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 13.

In addition to transportation accidents in the recent rail and ship sectors, Dudy has not received an official report.

Even so, he said, his party would evaluate the accidents based on recommendations from the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC).

"However, it can be ascertained that the recommendations from the NTSC will be fulfilled and corrected if things go wrong, both from the operator and the Ministry of Transportation," he concluded.

Previously, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and Danantara Indonesia removed Didiek Hartantyo from the position of President Director of PT KAI. Instead, Bobby Rasyidin was appointed to the position.

Bobby himself previously served as President Director of PT Len Industri (Persero), the holding company for the Defense Industry BUMN, DEFEND ID.

Not only at the helm, the Ministry of SOEs and Indonesian Danantara also carried out reshuffles to the ranks of the Board of Commissioners and other KAI Directors.

Perombakan itu tertuang dalam Surat Keputusan Menteri Badan Usaha Milik Negara dan Direktur Utama Perusahaan Perseroan (Persero) PT Danantara Asset Management Selaku Para Pemegang Saham Perusahaan Perseroan (Persero) PT Kereta Api Indonesia Nomor: SK-224/MBU/08/2025 dan SK.039/DI-DAM/DO/2025 tanggal 12 Agustus 2025.

Berdasarkan surat tersebut, Kementerian BUMN dan PT Danantara Asset Management juga memberhentikan dengan hormat Hadis Surya Palapa sebagai Direktur Niaga KAI; Rudi As Aturridha sebagai Direktur Pengembangan Usaha dan Kelembagaan; Rosma Handayani sebagai Direktur SDM dan Umum KAI; serta John Robertho sebagai Direktur Perencanaan Strategis dan Pengelolaan Sarana KAI.

The reshuffle was stated in the Decree of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises and the President Director of the Company (Persero) PT Danantara Asset Management as Shareholders of the Company (Persero) PT Kereta Api Indonesia Number: SK-224/MBU/08/2025 and SK.039/DI-DAM/DO/2025 dated August 12, 2025.

Based on the letter, the Ministry of SOEs and PT Danantara Asset Management also honorably dismissed Hadith Surya Palapa as Director of Commerce KAI; Rudi Asaturridha as Director of Business and Institutional Development; Rosma Handayani as Director of Human Resources and General Affairs of KAI; and John Robertho as Director of Strategic Planning and Management of KAI Facilities.
