Benny Tjokro's Confiscated Land In Tambun Is Used For The Food Mandiri Prosecutor's Program

BEKASI - The confiscated assets of the convict in the corruption case of the Armed Social Insurance of the Republic of Indonesia (Asabri), Benny Tjokro in the form of holding an area of 330 hectares (ha) were used as rice farming land. This step is an effort to optimize confiscated land so as not to be neglected.

The use of confiscated assets was initiated by the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) through the Prosecutor Mandiri Food program. The assets are located in Srimahi Village, North District. Tambun, Bekasi Regency, West Java.

Attorney General ST Burhanuddin said that this program is a form of support for the government to realize food self-sufficiency.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence (JAM Intel) of the Attorney General's Office, Reda Manthovani, explained that this program was a follow-up to a memorandum of understanding signed on March 25, 2025 between Intel JAM, Ministry of Agriculture, Pupuk Indonesia and Perum Bulog.

"Where in the memorandum of understanding it is agreed that the Prosecutor's Office will make land that can be utilized, the Ministry of Agriculture will provide the needs of agricultural cultivation infrastructure, PT Pupuk Indonesia will provide fertilizer needs and Perum Bulog will purchase crops later," said Reda.

Reda explained that the proceeds from the rice harvest will later be used for the welfare of farmers, including being able to be used to support the free nutrition meal program.

Furthermore, Reda said that this program is also planned to target all state confiscated goods assets throughout Indonesia.

"As a pilot project for the Mandiri Food Prosecutor's Program, we purchased land located in Bekasi Regency in the form of 414 plots of land with around 330 hectares. This land is the result of the confiscation of the Asabri corruption case for the convict Benny Tjokro, who is currently being brought under management by the Asset Recovery Agency," he said.

Through the Food Independent Prosecutor's Program, Reda hopes that national food needs can be met and even in surplus, so that Indonesia can export abroad.

"In addition, the benefits can be felt directly by the farmers," he said.

On the same occasion, President Director of Pupuk Indonesia Rahmad Pribadi welcomed this program. He ensured that his party was ready to support this kind of program.

"We are from Pupuk Indonesia, we are ready to support later if there are other areas that we can plant, we will see together. Suitable for rice, we plant rice, match corn, yes corn, basically we are ready to support it," explained Rahmad.

Furthermore, Rahmad also emphasized that Pupuk Indonesia will always be ready to support programs related to food security.

"Because the mandate mandated in Pupuk Indonesia supports food security through the provision of fertilizers, and pesticides, and of course with the technology we have to be able to increase farmers' production," he said.
